Inicialmente, la gira Lovetown tour tenia que finalizar con varios conciertos seguidos en Dublín. El motivo de que no fuese asi, fue la cancelacion de fechas en holanda por motivos de voz de Bono, y el hecho de que pusieran nuevas fechas en enero para compensar las que habian suspendido.
La polemica surgio cuando se hizo publico el precio de las entradas, un precio por lo visto bastante elevado, cosa que hizo que los Dublineses se molestasen bastante. La otra cosa que en principio no gusto fue la eleccion de Point Depot para celebrar sus conciertos, que, aunque habia sido remodelado hacia poco, no llegaba ni a 5000 localidades.
Para aclarar todo esto, Paul McGuinness tuvo que lanzar un comunicado de prensa explicando la situación. El motivo de elegir Point Depot, según decia el comunicado, era que en esta gira, al contrario que en The Joshua Tree, habian decidido celebrar conciertos mas intimos, y no por estadios.
Las entradas para los 4 conciertos en Point Depot acabaron bajando su precio y las 20.000 que salieron a la venta se agotaron enseguida.

Cuando el grupo empezo a tocar Where the streets have no name, durante la introducción, Bono recito unos versos. Estos versos forman parte de un poema de Samuel Beckett, Resolution And Independence. Samuel, habia muerto unos dias antes del concierto, y esa fue la manera que tuvo Bono de recordarlo.
El segundo concierto se produjo justo un dia despues, el 27 de diciembre de 1989 y el repertorio fue el siguiente.

Este segundo concierto fue un gran concierto, el grupo y el publico estubieron muy entregados duranto todo el show.
La primera sorpresa de la noche fue la aparicion de Maria McKee, cantante del grupo Lone Justice, para interpretar People get ready
La segunda sorpresa fue la reaparición de Two hearts beat as one, que no tocaban desde el 29 de abril de 1985 en Atlanta, en la gira de The unforgettable fire, al finalizar la cancion y justo antes de empezar con Pride, Bono canto una estrofa de Billie Jean de Michael Jackson.
Para preparar el tercer concierto tuvieron unos dias de descanso y este no se produjo hasta el 30 de diciembre de 1989:

Just dream it all up again estas son las ultimas palabras del discurso que Bono dio en la intro de Love rescue me, y que hizo pensar en una possible separación.

Thanks for coming along to, it wouldn't be the same without you, some people have travelled a long long way to come here tonight.
This.. I was explaining to people the other night but I might have gotten it a bit wrong that this is just the end of something for…for U2, and that’s why we’re playing these concerts, we’re throwing a party for ourselves and for you. It’s no big deal we have to go away and…just dream it all up again.”
Finalmente llegó el esperado ultimo concierto en Point Depot, y los rumores de que el show iba a ser retransmitido por television en todo el mundo se diluyeron, emitiendose, eso si, por radio en 21 paises europeos.
Dave Fanning fue el encargado de presentar a U2 antes del concierto, y mientras lo hacia y decia la cuentra atrás para entrar en un nuevo año, iban sonando los primeros acordes de la intro de Where the streets have no name.
Este concierto, al igual que sus anteriores en Dublín, son de los mejores y mas recordados de la banda.
